A note from the founder

Hello,

I moved to a new country knowing nobody, and spent a year working out things someone already here could have told me in five minutes. Sahayy is the thing I wish had existed that year.

A community is not built by one. It is built by each of us — whoever answers the question, posts the event, passes on the pram their child outgrew. Small things on their own. Together, the difference between living somewhere and belonging there.

So that is the ask, and it is not money. A group you already run. An event you know about. An answer somebody needs. Enough that whoever arrives next finds somewhere safe and trusted, where people look out for each other. Nobody should have to feel alone in a new city — least of all when so many of us are already here.

We are just getting started, and it grows with every group and event that goes up. If there is something you would like to see here, or an idea worth trying — tell me. Messages come straight to my phone, and I read every one.
